I am a qualified Social Worker and Psychosocial Therapist with over 20 years’ specialist experience in mental health, child safeguarding, domestic abuse, specifically coercive control. I bring together professional expertise and lived understanding to support individuals facing complex, high-conflict family situations.
Its My family currently provides consultancy services to Origami Ltd, delivering specialist family support and psychosocial interventions. Through this work, I support executive organisations, including accountancy firms, by offering tailored, family-focused support to individuals navigating separation, child arrangement negotiations, and the transition into parenthood.
Alongside this, I also provide dedicated support to mothers in the perinatal period who are navigating child protection processes, safeguarding assessments, and family court scrutiny during an already vulnerable time.
Why I Do This Work
My work is both personal and professional.
After becoming a mother in 2019, I found myself navigating co-parenting in the context of manipulation and post-separation abuse. Safeguarding concerns about my child were minimised, and patterns of behaviour were often treated as isolated incidents rather than recognised as part of a wider dynamic to cause harm.
Like many protective parents, I experienced the exhaustion of destabilising communication, covert bullying, and the ongoing fear that harm to my child would only be acknowledged once it became undeniable.
What became clear was this: emotional and psychological abuse, particularly coercive control and its impact on children, is incredibly difficult to evidence and communicate, especially within systems that are often focused on reaching agreement based on the presumption of a child having the right to contact with both parents, rather than prioritising risk
